Lisette Le Poux and The Cunning Woman

For all historical events, I use the Tarot de Paris. This deck is one of the oldest known complete decks - dating to the early 1700's - and is also the oldest known complete extant tarot deck in the world. The original is housed at the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris and was given a limited run reproduction in 1984.
The character I use for Revolutionary War reenactments is Metis (French and Shawnee), Catholic and extremely saucy. Currently I use this impression at: Fair at New Boston in Springfield, OH (Labor Day Weekend) Locust Grove Market Fair in Louisville, KY (last weekend in Oct.) Developed in 2006 for the Highland Renaissance Faire in Eminence, KY, The Cunning Woman is a work in progress. Based on the medieval concept of a healing woman, The Cunning Woman will have a desire to aid in healing, an ear for listening and a shoulder to cry on. She will offer herbs and simples, adornments, teas, a soothing and shaded garden, and tarot readings. The Cunning Woman partners with Jack Salt, a sailor through and through. Rope and canvas goods, trade items from around the globe, nautical music, and bawdy tales of the seafaring life. This is a movable shop, so if you are interested in having one or both of these aspects set up at your event, please contact me. The Cunning Woman and Jack Salt won Vendor of the Year at the Kentucky Highland Renaissance Faire for 2007!! We simply could not be more proud.
